Cincinnati, Ohio, where I’ve been the last few days, it is the home of consumer marketing star Procter & Gamble. Ivory Soap, one of P&G’s first products, discovered purely by accident in the 1800s. I just noticed today, right here in River City, in the eastern hills suburb in which I lived the longest period of time growing up, about two miles from my high school, in a house off south Drake Road, that the wrappings on some of the Ivory bars now say, in both French and English: “There’s no place like home”.
