You, with your longer hours and much higher standards (there are reasons beyond culture and morality Europe has remained much less off for the past 60 years), do not have a lock on “career suffering”.
Other people in other developed nations worry about disappointments, failures, set-backs about this important/not-important thing called Career. But no one uses defeat like we do:
