Tomorrow I go there to spend about a week. Philadelphia has “it”, a buzz and energy only a few Americans cities have. I just wish it had even more. But if I lived on the East coast–and I couldn’t for some reason live in NYC or DC– I’d live there. For years the cultural, social and political heart of the United States until the new nation could get its bearings, Philly is storied and very old, with lots of layers. It’s been a melting pot all to itself since the 1600s. It’s got diversity, attitude, the Third Circuit and a train system that people actually use.
