Detroit is Mitt Romney’s city, too. He spent his first 18 years there. In 1965, five years before this performance at Wayne State in Detroit, Romney had graduated from Cranbrook, a Detroit day prep school in his suburb of Bloomfield Hills. The year before, in 1969, Romney’s dad had just stepped down as Governor of Michigan. The MC5 and its manager John Sinclair (also the founder of the American White Panther Party) were both political and musical phenoms in Michigan and metropolitan Detroit. Does Mitt even know who these Lincoln Park guys are?
