Our 2 cents.
First, nearly all of our clients are out of town, and we can generally predict when we will see them. So we care more about your phone game.
Second, we love associates who love to work long hours so we can make money and they can learn. Wear what you want–but look classy. We like suits in the East and at least blazers in the West.
Finally, in any event, for you guys, who have less fashion sense: whether or not you are into clothes, look abd be classy. Avoid the FBI-agent/Nazi youth crew-cut 1950s look–popular for years among insurance defense lawyers and still in vogue in towns like Pittsburgh, Detroit and Cleveland. Wear not cheap suits. Clients, juries and our moms all hate creepy-looking guys with law degrees, really close-cropped hair in third-rate suits.
